Clover under cover!

I made a possible oops!! And it’s not even about daisies!

A few days ago I scattered dutch white clover (Trifolium Repens) and crimson (?) clover into the T.A.R.D.I.S veggie bed. Both species are one of the best nitrogen fixing cover crops fabulous for growing good veg, but also attract beneficial insects like bees and butterflies. Not to mention they are both pretty.

The OOPS? In my foggy and fatigued state of mind,  I dumped a mulch layer of pine shavings (for ferrets) into the bed around the vegetables to block weeds from taking over and retain moisture. About 1/2″ of shavings. So I may have just wasted a bunch of seed, which would be too bad. They were pushing roots as of yesterday! ARG!!

The T.A.R.D.I.S, (or the big blue box) prior to the addition of pine shavings.
